Machinery: labels/instructions, accessible edges — reported risk evidence

This comparison covers 6 official alert references, including circular saw, published from 2006-05-26 to 2007-10-26. The recorded risks raise separate evidence questions about labels/instructions, accessible edges. Compare the product features and dated findings below before scoping an investigation. These historical observations do not determine your product’s compliance or a market failure rate.

Circular saw · 1094/07

Report published 2007-10-26 · notifying country Hungary · reported origin People's Republic of China

Reported product description
The housing of the circular saw and the grips were made of plastic, the grip containing the switch has a softer and different coloured insert. Other parts of the machine were made of metal. The unintentional press of the switch is prevented by a locking mechanism, the machine can be switched on by two separate motions, and the switch becomes locked when released. The depth and angle of the cut can be adjusted by sinking and turning the base plate. The protecting shields and the splitting wedge move together with the motor and saw, thus their relative position is permanent. Main components: plug with inscription: " YYEAC YXD-02 16A 250V~"+ marks of approval; mains cable with inscriptions: "YUAO YUXIANG H05VV-F 2X0,75mm2"+VDE; bipolar switch with inscription: "FA6-4/2B 4(4)A 250V~ 5E4" + S; sawing disc with inscription: "185MMX20MMX18T" Technical specifications: 230V~; 50Hz; 1200W; 4500rpm; Class II; diameter of the disc:185 mm. [1]
Reported risk explanation
The product poses a risk of:- electric shock since the unfixed internal wiring can get into contact with moving parts and sharp edges, and the majority of electrical safety instructions are missing from the instructions for use, - injuries because the cutting wedge suffers permanent deformation, moreover the instructions for use do not include the majority of the general safety instructions neither the specific safety rules relating to the hand-held circular saws. The product does not comply with Machinery Directive and the relevant European standard EN 60745. mini motorbike “CMM”Type/model: Superminicross 125 CC. [3]
Reported risk explanation
The use of this machine is extremely dangerous and it could injure the rider or any other person in the vicinity because:- a finger can easily be inserted up to the sprocket since the chain guard near the sprocket is insufficient;- there is no chain guard near the gear cog to prevent trapping between the gear cog and the chain;- the lateral protection of the exhaust heats up to 84ºC and the bend of the exhaust pipe in the foot area heats up to 230ºC;the product contains sharp edges, such as the panels for protecting the underside and the brake pedal;- the intake air filter falls off when touched and it is in a position where it can easily be hit by a foot;- the operation of the fuel shutoff valve is awkward since the plastic parts of the bodywork make it difficult to operate;- the throttle (air) does not stay in position;- the steering stop damages the lower end of the fork;- the noise level is excessive;- the warning information and instruction manual are incomplete. The product does not comply with the Machinery Directive. Recorded risk labels within this evidence task

Label combinations are source facts within one comparison; they do not create separate guides with identical preparation tasks.

Source selection, exclusions and calculation method

Filter the acquired, completely parsed English weekly XML releases. Deduplicate official alert references. Group by product category and the complete set of conditional evidence-question topics supported by actual risk text. Risk-label combinations remain recorded cohort facets and do not create buyer intents. Brand, product name, model, origin, notifying country, measurement-only changes and different wording of the same questions do not create intents. Unrecognized mechanisms stay internal for enrichment. Count report years and notifying countries deterministically. Display at most eight newest descriptions with at least 40 characters after whitespace normalization, nonempty reported measures and distinct casefolded descriptions; break date ties by official identifier. All cohort records count even if their description is shorter or not displayed. This is not a representative sample. Counts concern this acquired corpus only.

One acquired version per official public alert reference. Display at most eight newest distinct product descriptions whose normalized whitespace-collapsed text contains at least 40 characters and has nonempty reported measures; ties sort by official identifier. The complete cohort includes shorter descriptions. This is an explicit display selection, not a representative sample.

6 distinct descriptions displayed; 0 cohort records not displayed. Missing fields: {}.

These are selected, dated enforcement observations in the acquired weekly reports, not a random market sample, market-wide failure rate, proof of current product status, or a determination about your product. Notification country is not a complete sales-market or jurisdiction-coverage field. A quoted legal/standard reference is the report’s statement, not independently verified current law or a mandatory test panel.

Calculation safety-gate-evidence-comparison-10; units recorded alerts; no incidence denominator.

Turn the reported failure mechanism into a scoped investigation

Use this checklist to gather your business or product details before speaking with a specialist. The items below explain what to record and suggest useful supporting documents. You can add your own answers in the editable project brief.

  1. Labels, instructions and actual use — what evidence do we have?

Capture the exact label/instruction revision and destination/use context. Compare the information gap described in the report with your own product and current sector requirements, keeping a reported defect separate from a universal wording obligation.

Useful evidence: Current labels/instructions, revision and market/translation records, use/risk information and reviewed applicable requirements.

    Reported context: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6]

  2. Accessible edges and points — what evidence do we have?

Compare the particular accessible edge or point, material, geometry and use conditions with the reported cutting mechanism. Ask a specialist to justify the applicable assessment and criteria for your actual product and users.

Useful evidence: Dimensioned edge/point drawings, material and finish specifications, use/accessibility context and relevant existing evaluation.

    Reported context: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6]

  3. Can we trace the affected component, formula or design revision across our supplied products?

Compare the reported descriptions with your own identifiers and change records. Treat missing or “Unknown” source fields as unresolved; they do not establish that no action was needed.

Useful evidence: Product identifiers, revision history, supplier/batch traceability and market/operator records.

  4. Who would own an evidence review and any resulting corrective-action decision?

Read the reported measures as historical observations. Establish your own operator roles, sector-specific rules, decision owner and communication responsibilities before adopting another case’s response.

Useful evidence: Supply-chain responsibility map, applicable-law review, investigation scope and documented decision/communication workflow.
