PIF Readiness Checklist

Self-assess your Product Information File (PIF) readiness before contacting EU/UK cosmetics compliance providers. Under Regulation 1223/2009, the PIF must be complete and accessible.

Checklist

Check each item you have in place. Providers can often help complete missing items, but having these ready speeds onboarding.

Safety assessment (CPSR)

Cosmetic Product Safety Report completed by a qualified assessor

Full ingredient list (INCI)

INCI names and concentrations (or concentration ranges) for all ingredients

Manufacturing information

Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance and manufacturing method

Claim substantiation

Evidence supporting any product claims (e.g. "moisturizing", "anti-aging")

Label/packaging information

Current labels, packaging artwork, and product description

Stability data (if applicable)

Stability testing results for shelf-life and storage conditions

Microbiology / preservative efficacy (if applicable)

Preservative efficacy test (PET) or challenge test results

Ready to contact providers?
